Summer Camp
August 1st to September 2nd 2006
From 8:30am to 6pm
Research shows that children loose much of what they have learned over the summer months. Let us help your child achieve in the new term. Your child will review what was learned in the previous year as well as get a jump on the new year.
Academic Activities
The summer program is focused on getting students ready for the new school year in a fun way. Every morning students will spend two hours preparing (with a break in the middle) for the next school year. We will be reviewing the past year's work as well preparing for the next. We will work closely with parents to respond properly to each student's needs. CRV uses the Illinois State standards (the learning standards CPS uses) to assess where students are and what they need to know for the next year.
Staff
Our summer program is led by a CPS teacher with 7 years of experience and is a NASA explorer teacher. Our lead teacher specializes in languages, science, and math, and holds a Ph.D. in science.
Recreational Activities
In the afternoon, we will do different recreational activities such as arts and crafts, hiking, swimming, games, cookouts, picnic, and field trips.
For lunch, we will cookout or eat on site.
The schedule may change if the weather doesn't permit an activity.
